Untitled Poem #1
As I drink the wine that gets me through the week
That sets me in my vintage and reddens my cheek
How placid my demeanour and portly my physique
Excuse me for a minute, I've got to take a leak
As I smoke the joint that gets me through the day
And makes me smile while I while my day away
That lends an odd enchantment and adds a slight delay
Excuse me for a minute, I've forgotten what I was going to say
As I do a line as often as required
To make me talk profoundly and stop me getting tired
With every fresh ingestion growing ever more inspired
Excuse me for a minute, I'm getting slightly wired
As I take the pills that get me through he years
That muffle anxious moments, allay irrational fears
That build up in my body till they're coming out my ears
Excuse me for a minute, my ambulance is here
